Introducing eisy | lite
We also want to share something we’re genuinely excited about. We know that RAM prices have been climbing, and that’s put pressure on budgets across the board. With that in mind, we designed eisy | lite – a streamlined solution that delivers everything you need for the vast majority of installations, at a more accessible price point.
If you’ve been on the fence due to cost, eisy | lite might be exactly what you’re looking for. We’re proud of what we built, and we think you’ll love it.
lite vs. r2: Which One Is Right for You?
Both eisy | lite and eisy | home r2 run the same IoX platform, the same eisy-ui, and the same full plugin catalog. The choice between them comes down to your home’s demands, and your budget.
Performance
eisy | home r2 is powered by the Intel N150, topping out at 3.6 GHz, backed by 8 GB DDR5 memory, in a fanless, completely silent design. It handles heavy automation workloads of large plugin stacks, complex programs, high device counts, without breaking a sweat or making a sound.
eisy | lite uses the Intel N95, running up to 3.4 GHz with 4 GB DDR4 memory. For most homes, the difference is imperceptible. Where it shows up is under sustained heavy load, running many plugins simultaneously or executing very large numbers of concurrent programs (>250). An inaudible fan keeps thermals in check, so you’ll never hear it, but r2’s faster DDR5 memory and passive fanless design give it a meaningful edge in demanding scenarios.
Choose r2 if: you run a large, complex installation with very large number of devices, many active plugins, and large number of programs.
Choose lite if: your automation needs are solid but not extreme: schedules, device control, notifications, and a reasonable plugin set.
Storage
r2 ships with 128 GB eMMC. lite ships with 64 GB. Both are more than sufficient for IoX, eisy-ui, and a healthy plugin stack. The gap becomes relevant only if you plan to run a large number of data-heavy plugins or accumulate significant logs and historical data over time.
Connectivity
Both models share the same connectivity profile: WiFi 6.0, Bluetooth 5.2, 1× USB-C, 2× USB 3.0, and 1× USB 2.0. There is no connectivity compromise on lite. Your PLM, ZMatter USB, and any USB accessories connect identically on both units.
Power
The N95 carries a 15W TDP versus r2’s remarkably efficient 6W. In practice, real-world draw will be lower than TDP, but if energy efficiency is a priority, or if you’re running eisy on a UPS or solar-backed circuit, r2 has a meaningful advantage.
Choose r2 if: power consumption matters, whether for efficiency, off-grid resilience, or long-term electricity cost.
Choose lite if: you’re on standard household power and energy draw at this scale isn’t a deciding factor.
Development
If you are developing plugins for eisy on eisy itself, then Choose r2.
Price
At $399, eisy | lite brings the full eisy experience back to where eisy r2 launched before the DDR5 shortage pushed r2 to $599. If you’ve been waiting to migrate from a 994 or add a second controller to your installation, lite removes the barrier without removing the platform.
