Insteon i3 Product Support

eisy makes it easy to add insteon i3 products.

eisy (or Polisy) version 5.5.9 now has initial support for i3 products: 4-Button Keypad, Dual Outlet, Dial, and Paddle.

What is initial support?

Although support is almost complete, but due to lack of documentation, the following is not yet working:

  1. i3 paddle status changes are not communicated to IoX
  2. Some options are not settable

We are working with insteon.com on getting these minor issues resolved ASAP.

What do I need?

If you already have an eisy or Polisy with a PLM attached, simply upgrade your unit to 5.5.9. Here are the instructions.

If you have a 994, you need:

  1. eisy 
  2. Serial PLM Kit – this allows you to connect your PLM to eisy

Migration from 994 to eisy is really easy! Here are the instructions.

Bye Bye ISY994i !

Thanks to you for its enormous success, and after 14 years of rock-solid operations and performance, sadly we must say goodbye to our beloved ISY994i Series.

What Models Are Affected?

With the exception of ISY 994r, ISY 994 PRO OADR, and OEMs all other models are affected.

What Does It Mean for Me?

As long as your unit works, nothing! Otherwise:

  • We no longer carry any spare parts and/or replacements.
  • Starting 06/01/2023:
    • You can no longer add modules to your existing 994s. 
    • All requests for transfer from one 994 to another 994 will require a $125 transfer fee. 
    • Free technical support will cease for any issues relating to 994i Series. Paid support will remain available till 06/01/2024.

Migration from your 994 is as easy as backup/restore. All your Z-Wave devices will be migrated to ZMatter board*. For those with Zooz 700 series dongle, the migration process is as easy.

For those who have not yet migrated their 994s to Polisy, now is the time and here are the instructions.

*Some devices may require manual intervention especially if they support S2.

Future Proof Your Polisy

Although Matter products are not yet available, we are closely monitoring and implementing features as they become available. In the meantime, we will try supporting regular Zigbee devices and then operate in dual Zigbee/Matter mode once Matter is available.

Important Security Notice

Unauthorized Access

On 03/08/2021, there was unauthorized access to one of our databases  containing user profile information. We have since blocked this unauthorized access and made additional changes to our technical infrastructure to prevent future incidents. 

In order to provide single sign-on, and strengthen our security, early last year we started offering ISY Portal for authentication and authorization in addition to the website’s default sign-in option. ISY Portal has not been impacted by this unauthorized access. And, going forward, ISY Portal will be the only available option for signing in into your account. Although all the passwords in the compromised database are stored encrypted (one way hash), if you used the same password in ISY Portal, we strongly recommend changing it to something else. This site is a good source for generating strong and random passwords.

Please note that, we do not store any credit card and/or payment information anywhere in our infrastructure. 

Since the compromised system was first discovered, we have been working diligently and methodically to examine, test, and secure each component of our system and ensure it is safe. Earning your trust through the operation of secure services will always be our highest priority. We deeply regret this incident and apologize for the inconvenience.
